While at the 2011 Collective Biofuels Conference, we ran into a group called Summit Greasecycling. They collect WVO in Breckinridge, Colorado and have created a little twist on the whole “making soap” thing.
Instead of making soap from Biodiesel glycerin, they’ve started producing it from the waste oil that they collect! This makes it a lot easier for them since they don’t have to remove any methanol and the recipes for making the soap are pretty much like craft-soap makers would make.
Check out these pictures of one of their bars! I love the labels!
