About Lyle
Lyle Rudensey has taught literally hundreds of people how to make their own Biodiesel through his hands-on Biodiesel workshops in the Seattle, WA area. His relaxed teaching style combined with his incredible knowledge of the Biodiesel production process makes for an incredible experience that students come away from raving about. Not only does he make the whole process incredibly easy to learn, but you'll come away knowing so much more about why Biodiesel works, why anyone can make it, and how you can get started on a budget!

Since 2003, Lyle has been making all of his own fuel for his car and home heating stove. He also gave many founders of Biodiesel companies their first start in making Biodiesel and got them off on the right foot. He's passionate about Biodiesel and the need for renewable energy, and has done presentations on this topic for many community organizations, conferences, and K12 students. With a background in education, time spent as a research scientist, and a degree in Biology, Lyle is uniquely qualified to teach Biodiesel like no other.

About The Tutorial DVD Set

Classroom Instruction:
In this section, Lyle covers it all. From the basics of how Biodiesel is formed chemically to tips on how to collect oil from restaurants to a whole section devoted on how to properly titrate oil. You'll learn all the details of what it takes to make Biodiesel in an easy-to-understand format that will help you get up & running in no time!

Lyle also takes the time in this section to help you really understand what's going on during the chemical Biodiesel production process in easy to understand terms. In The Garage:
Here Lyle takes you on a complete tour of his Biodiesel production garage where he regularly makes Biodiesel. He walks you through every piece of equipment and tells you what it's for, why he chose it for it's purpose, and how it works.

He then goes a step further by making an actual batch of Biodiesel in the garage showing and explaining every single step along the way. This section includes everything from filtering the oil coming into his garage to showing how he fills up his vehicle with Biodiesel! It's like being right there!

Lyle details the inner workings of a successful Biodiesel coop called The Dirty Hands Coop that he helped found. He goes over their highly successful formula for how they ensure fuel is made in a timely manner, how they make it fair for all parties involved, and how the fuel is tested to ensure that it meets high quality standards. He then shows step by step how the coop produces their high quality fuel using an automated Biodiesel processor called a BioPro 190.

Additionally, Lyle also shows how incoming oil is logged, how it's filtered, how it's produced into Biodiesel, how it's stored, and then how it's distributed to coop members.
