 After biodiesel is processed it is commonly washed using a wash tank. It involves using a mist wash and a bubble wash on the biodiesel. Below are some common supplies used in putting together a successful biodiesel wash tank. Click on any of the items below to be taken directly to the product.    Description: This item is by far my favorite wash tank heater. It's made of stainless steel so it'll hold up to Biodiesel extremely well. This unit will heat a 55 gallon wash tank to 90° F. and keep it there. It's the ideal solution for keeping biodiesel at temp for washing. The heating unit is safe to use in poly and steel wash tanks and is an ideal solution for keeping your biodiesel warm while washing it. With an adjustable thermostat, a separate temperature probe and a stainless steel heater lead, it's just about as perfect as you can get for heating wash tanks. Need an easy way to quickly heat up your Biodiesel wash tank? Then check out these great band heaters! Available for metal or poly drums, they're rated for heavy duty use on metal or poly drums, have a 4" x 70" heating band, are corrosion, moisture, and chemical resistand, and can easily handle heating Biodiesel, wash water, or even wvo! That little tip makes the water emit at just the right angle and strength to perfectly wash biodiesel. You can order this mister with just the mister or with an attachment that can secure the fitting to a wash barrel complete with a locking nut & washer. The fitting allows you to use a common garden hose or use just the bushing to plumb it into 3/4" plumbing. Be sure to pick up some of our teflon tape to seal the fittings.

Single Wash Pro Head Description: A Utah Biodiesel Supply Exclusive! If you're serious about washing your biodiesel then you'll want one of these. This stainless steel fitting can pack a serious punch! When properly used, it can wash biodiesel in about 2 hours. The fitting is made from stainless steel so it's completely compatible with biodiesel & water. Think of it as an industrial grade washer. In order to use this for washing, you need to ensure all of your glycerin and soap has been drained off. Otherwise, this WILL cause an emulsion. It emits a serious spray. But, get that glycerin & soap layer out of the way, add this fitting and spray away! 
  
Because the opening on this item is so large it's also perfect for use to recirculate biodiesel to dry it with.
Simply add a circulating pump to your wash tank, connect this fitting to it, and spray your biodiesel back into your
wash tank until it's dry.
Be sure to pick up some of our teflon tape to seal the fittings.

When installed properly, you can recirculate your biodiesel or wvo
through this dryer to create a quick drying fanning effect inside your wash tank.
As the fanning effect occurs, it allows moisture trapped in the Biodiesel or wvo to escape faster and dry it quicker. You can even use a standard processor pump to recirculate biodiesel from the bottom of your wash tank up through plumbing and right through this drying nozzle. Simply add a circulating pump to your wash tank, connect this fitting to it, and spray your biodiesel or wvo back into your wash tank or oil drum until it's dry. We highly recommend plumbing this dryer through a ball valve to regulate the flow and also connecting a by-pass fitting in place so that you don't strain your pump. 2" Bungs With 3/4" Threads With Pop-out Center | BACK TO TOP   Description: These poly bungs are perfect for using in a poly drum to make a wash tank. The 2" bungs fit perfectly in most poly drums. Each bung has a set of 3/4" threads that a pipe can be threaded into. The center is pre-cut to pop out cleanly so that wash tank plumbing will fit perfectly in them. 9" Standpipe Assembly | BACK TO TOP  Description: This standpipe assembly comes complete with a 9" black-steel pipe with a 4" thread on one side, your choice of a fine or buttress threaded 2" bung w/ a 3/4" threaded pop-out center, a 3/4" washer and two 3/4" locking nuts. Comes assembled. Just tigthen, seal, and place in a barrel. This stand-pipe is ideal for building a standpipe based wash tank to wash biodiesel in.

Silicone Wash Tank Sealant | BACK TO TOP  Description: This silicone is perfect for sealing the bottom of a poly barrel wash tank. It's impervious to Biodiesel, Methanol, and all the other contaminants that are commonly found in wash tanks. It seals extremely well. I use it to seal my bungs, my stand-pipes, and the threads on the bungs. Great stuff!
