Peoples Shopping Habits online
You know, it's always amazed me how the orders tend to trickle in from my business.
Just a couple of interesting "tidbits" from the site...
The busiest "shopping day" on the site is and always has been Sundays.
I'll go to bed at night Sat night after checking for new orders & have it flushed out & by Monday morning there's more than I'll see any other day of the week.
The busiest "time of day" on the site is at 8PM at night.
The busiest "day of the week" for traffic is Monday followed by Sunday.
(I guess they look on Monday, keep looking throughout the week & then come back & buy on Sunday afternoon).
I've also noticed that things get ordered in "spurts".
For example, I'll see 2 or 3 Soap Guides sold right in a row (or very close together) and then the next day it'll be titration kits.
It's like there's a lot of forums out there where people talk about things or friends talk among themselves about things and they all go & order at once.
It's also a very seasonal business.
It's also highly correlated to the price of diesel fuel.
Not so much what the actual price of diesel is but how fast it's gone up or down.
If it shoots up 10 to 20 cents in a couple days, yep, I'm hopin' busy the next few days.
If it stay's stagnant or goes down, yep, we slow on down.
Winters are really slow and summers are really busy (people don't like to collect oil in the cold months).
But I still get a kick of how the orders come through. I can go to dinner, come back to check the orders out afterwards (yes, I know, I'm a sick, sick man...I'm married to this thing) and sure enough, after about 8PM they start trickling in.
If I were a bettin' man (which I'm not), I'd bet that a lot of other businesses online out there see the same thing.
So, there you have it, my short little blurb on the buying habits of some folks out there.
