How It Works
Once you purchase a test package below, FOI Labs will ship you a testing kit. You'll then put your fuel to be tested in the supplied kit and repackage it up with the included packing material. Then attach the supplied prepaid shipping label to the box and drop it off at any UPS facility. When your package arrives at FOI Labs, they'll open it up and start the testing process. Afer the testing is complete you'll receive your test results via email.

Easy To Use Kits
Unlike other labs that make you send your fuel in using your own containers, FOI Labs will actually send you the kit to use. You'll not only receive a kit but a pre-paid label to send it back with. The kit is completely standardized and includes easy to follow directions. You simply sample your fuel, box it up and ship it back to FOI Labs for analysis. Once it gets to the lab it's tracked electronically and tested automatically to ensure the highest level of testing.

State Of The Art Equipment
FOI Labs started out with the belief that the test results are only as good as the equipment it's tested on. With this in mind, they set up one of the most top-notch, state-of-the-art Biodiesel testing labs in the United States. All of their equipment is brand new, completely automated and extremely accurate.

Turn Around Time

Free & Total Glycerin (16 oz Fuel Collected)| Back To Testing Packages
This is by far the most common test Biodiesel users and producers use. This test checks the biodiesel to identify how much glycerin is still left over in your biodiesel sample. Free glycerin is an indication of how well you're biodiesel is being washed. Bound glycerin allows you to see how well the reaction occured when the biodiesel was produced. The Basic Test Package (16 oz Fuel Collected)| Back To Testing Packages
This package tests for common quality indicators in Biodiesel. It will test for Free & Total Glycerin, Flashpoint, and Acid Number. The Free & Total Glycerin test will indicate how well the conversion went. The Flashpoint test will give you an idea of how much methanol is left in the oil, which helps to indicate how well you're washing is working. The Acid Number also helps to identify how well the fuel is being reacted. It can also indicate if fuel is oxidizing and breaking down in storage. High acid numbers can have a solvency effect on rubber seals and hoses in the fuel system.

The Deluxe Testing Package (16 oz Fuel Collected)| Back To Testing Packages
This package is the same as above except we add the Sulfated Ash Test and the Karl Fisher Water Content Test. Sulfated Ash is an indicator of how much soap or other residuals are left. High Sulfated Ash levels can clog new Catalytic Converts on diesels designed for ULSD (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel). The Water Content test indicates how dry the biodiesel is. Water and diesel fuel injection systems don't do too well together so having dry fuel is of utmost importance. NOTE: This test packages uses a different method to find water content (D 6304). The Karl Fisher test will find TOTAL water content & not just FREE water. The ASTM only requires FREE water (D 2709), however knowing total water content is of great benefit.

This test package has the 5 most commonly failed tests by Biodiesel producers. It's a common test run by commercial biodiesel producers, biodiesel distributors, and biodiesel retailers. If Biodiesel is going to fail ASTM, these tests typically are where it will fail. This is a great test to run if you're getting ready to do the full ASTM tests and think you're "almost there". We highly recommend it!

The Modified ASTM D 6751 Test Package (64 oz Fuel Collected)| Back To Testing Packages
If you think you've got what it takes to pass the ASTM D6751 test, but aren't quite ready to spring for the whole thing, then this is the test for you. It tests for everything the full Biodiesel ASTM D6751 test calls for except Cetane Number so it's not "certifiable" for your ASTM accredidation for selling the fuel. However, this is an excellent test to check your fuel against and comes highly recommended as a cost effective way to see if you're ready for the full bona-fide ASTM D6751 Test Package.
